She has to save to buy the gifts
Once round the year the kids cant miss
Bridles on spending hasnt helped much
She tries harder before the day shows up

a week before, while she's at work
in a wistful mind with a trail of thoughts

she finds a cover at her desk
Inside was a bill and a note that read
"Friend...I know the goings been tough
Maybe this will help you enough"

Without a faintest clue of who it was
she looks for the anonymous friend that played her part
Nobody realizes the scribble to date
A gesture that would keep her awake

For what mirth there is left in life
If the love for giving isn't realized

thank you everyone...that incident meant a lot to me and i probably learnt something huge without being taught...its a wonderful feeling to bring a smile on someone's face without asking for recognition

An anonymous random act of kindness - lovely. And the last stanza is ever so true. Very nice
